Irish Students

If you're planning on coming to Toronto and would like to play football we'd love to have you join our club. Feel free to surf around the site and learn more about us, or just give us an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. Every year we're contacted by many students and many of them have the same questions. This page is intended to give you a little info to help you get set up for your stay.

Both mens and ladies players are required to have either a sanction or transfer processed from their home clubs before they can play in Toronto. If you need help aquiring those documents we can help you out.

The Toronto GAA also has a by-law in affect that limits the amount of sanctioned or transferred players they can have in their panel. There is plenty of room among the whole association for summer students. However, if you'd like to secure a place on a team its recommended that you approach the club you're interested in (aka ours :)) A.S.A.P..

The majority of students travelling for the summer seem to stay in various residence buildings on the University of Toronto campus. The university is right in the heart of Toronto and is a very large school with many options for accommodation. A good place to start your search would be the U of T Housing website you'll be given plenty of links to research.

If you're interested in something more long term or something other than a university dorm, you may want to check out a local newspapers website. The Toronto Star or the Toronto Sun are good resources as well as Renters News.

The two newspapers mentioned above for accommodation are also places you can search for jobs. There are also many other employment websites available to you. However, trying to find a job while you're not in the country can be challenging. The best advice we can give is to get yourself a visa, get out here as soon as you can so you can have as many interviews as possible. There are also some agencies you can use like YES and government employment centers that you can check out once you're here.

Sanctions, transfers, accommodation and jobs are usually the main questions people coming to Toronto have. If you have a question that we haven't covered feel free to email us and we'd be happy to help you out. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
