What is the GAA?

The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) is Ireland’s largest sporting organization. It is celebrated as one of the great amateur sporting associations in the world.

It is part of the Irish consciousness and plays an influential role in Irish society that extends far beyond the basic aim of promoting Gaelic games.

The Durham Robert Emmets GFC competes in the TGAA, a Canadian branch of the GAA based out of Toronto, Ontario and welcomes players both Irish and Canadian!

What is the CGAA?

Since 1987, the Canadian Gaelic Athletic Association is the officially recognized governing body for Canada for the three Gaelic games and cultural organizations – the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), the Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) & the Camogie Association (CA) whose headquarters are based in Dublin, Ireland.

The GAA in Canada has grown across the country and clubs are now represented in the provinces of Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Winnipeg, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.

Durham GFC is a league member of the Toronto GAA (TGAA) in Ontario.

What is CGAA JustGo?

CGAA JustGo (formerly GoMembership) is the sole membership registration system of the Canada Gaelic Athletic Association and all of its member clubs.

All adult-participant, youth participants, and adult non-participants must register annually for their CGAA Member License in order to be eligible for CGAA participation.
